Alissa Wicklund, Ph.D.
Dr. Wicklund is a neuropsychologist with a doctoral degree from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine.  She completed her internship training, with a focus in neuropsychology, at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She continued her specialized training in neuropsychology through a post-doctoral residency at the Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center at Northwestern, and in a private practice environment at the Chicago Neuropsychology Group.  She has over 10 years of experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia syndromes. Her clinical work and research has also been focused on rare neurologic diseases that result in dementia. Results from her research have been published in many peer reviewed journals.  She has also authored review papers on the topics of cognition in aging and dementia, and her research results have been presented at many national symposia.  Dr. Wicklund has considerable experience in the assessment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in adults, traumatic brain injury, electrical injury, mood disorders, and psychotherapy with patients and their families dealing with the diagnosis of major medical illness. She has an intense interest in research and teaching, and has given many invited lectures and taught courses on topics in neuropsychology.
